The Sir John Ritblat British Open Singles and Doubles Championship. The Singles Championship is restricted to 24 players. The top 20 players will qualify by right. Seeding and qualification will be determined firstly by the top 15 players on the IRTPA world ranking list. The Doubles Championship is restricted to 12 pairs. Seeding and qualification for the top 8 pairs will be determined by the IRTPA world doubles rankings list on the closing date of entry. Draw and streaming to be advised.

The perpetual trophy was discovered at Leonard Joel auctions. and now features actual sandstone (in the base) from the old Exhibition Street court. It is named after Jeff Bird, held to be the monocular world champion and a man with “an almost mystical knack of winning these tournaments.” To be presented by Elaine Bird (if possible) at breakfast after tennis

RMTC is proud to announce that The Boomerang Cup is back for 2026!
This international amateur team's handicap doubles event is played every two years in Melbourne, and we are keen to see teams from as many clubs from France, UK, USA, Netherlands, Ireland... and Australia. Start planning for a bumper summer of tennis down under, along with lead in tournaments at Ballarat, Hobart and the very welcome return of a court to Sydney.
A number of events (social and sporting) will be hosted at the Club and around Melbourne throughout the tournament. Further information will be provided closer to the date.

World Amateur Masters 2026 Australia Dates and Details
Royal Melbourne Tennis Club | Sat, 28th Mar | 12:00 am
The World Amateur Masters Championships - the International Team Events and the Individual Championships - will be held in Australia during Sat. 28 March to Sat. 11 April 2026. The International Team Events will be played at Ballarat, Hobart and Sydney.
The Individual Championships will be played in Melbourne - Fri. 3 to Sat. 11 April 2026. Details available here.
